Past ahead
Realised as part of the KPO (National Recovery Plan) for Culture scholarship programme
The project is a visual interpretation of the mechanisms of memory. I treat memory not as a permanent, immutable record of the past, but as a living, ever-changing medium.
At the heart of my interest is the moment where truth begins to blur with fiction, and real experiences give way to imagination. Through the moving image, I examine the fragmented nature of our memories – their fleeting quality, distortions, and the „false traces” generated by both human imagination and modern technology.
A key aspect of this project is the collision of two worlds: ephemeral digital video and raw, physical matter. By displaying my works on custom-prepared plywood and sheet metal backdrops, I give these virtual images a tangible weight and texture. Through these hybrid forms, I want to prompt the viewer to reflect on what in our memories remains an authentic trace of the past, and what is merely an illusion.

Projekt to wizualna interpretacja mechanizmów działania pamięci. Traktuję pamięć nie jako trwały i niezmienny zapis przeszłości, ale jako żywe, ciągle zmieniające się tworzywo.
W centrum moich zainteresowań stoi moment, w którym prawda zaczyna mieszać się z fikcją, a realne przeżycia ustępują miejsca wyobrażeniom. Za pomocą ruchomego obrazu badam fragmentaryczność naszych wspomnień – ich ulotność, zniekształcenia oraz „fałszywe ślady”, które generuje zarówno ludzka wyobraźnia, jak i współczesna technologia.
Kluczowym aspektem projektu jest dla mnie spotkanie dwóch światów: ulotnego, cyfrowego wideo oraz surowej, fizycznej materii. Wyświetlając prace na przygotowanych przeze mnie podkładach ze sklejki i blachy, nadaję wirtualnym obrazom realny ciężar i fakturę. Poprzez te hybrydowe formy chcę skłonić widza do refleksji nad tym, co w naszych wspomnieniach jest autentycznym śladem przeszłości, a co jedynie iluzją.
